I think you are jumping the gun a bit here. I would suggest driving for an owner first to learn the business before buying a van.

Since it's only Thursday the best help I can give you is this.

DO NOT BUY A SPRINTER TOMORROW!!!

You are looking at a career. Treat it like a career. That means a LARGE amount of study and education. Think about how many months and hundreds of hours education is required for a successful career as a plumber, paralegal, realtor or any other field. You need a similar foundation for this career. You can get a crash course, which you can't do in other fields, by reading back at least 3 years in the General, Newbies and Recruiter forums.

You don't have to read every single word written in 3 years but you must read every single thread title and then you must read every word of every thread that sounds remotely educational. That is a lot of reading. If you apply yourself, and you can devote full time every day to doing so, you can probably do that reading in the next week or so. Then you can take a few days to digest it and decide if this is right for you. Then, if all that works out to a go, you can go for a van on the 30th when they have to make the sales to make the monthly quota and may give a better deal.

Your other more economical option is to take the advice of driving for an owner. You still need to do the reading and studying. There is far FAR more to this than holding a steering wheel. Even if you were going to work for your cousin's plumbing shop you'd still need to learn plumbing. Otherwise you might as well just get the hose and spray your face.

Take what @LDB says to heart. The man knows what he is talking about.

A courier business in Europe and expediting in the United States are two different animals. The only thing similar is both use a vehicle.

I had 12 years or more over the road in trucking (van, reefer, flatbed, dump...local, regional, long haul...also small and large dump trucks...company driver, owner operator, contract driver) and I started doing expedite 4 days short of 1 yr ago and I drive for an owner...I am just now getting enough job knowledge to consider purchasing my own vehicle. Trust us, drive for an owner first
