I was wondering what you could be hauling with your weight capacity that would require 8 straps that big? Glad to hear you don't need them after all.

Cool, you're welcome. Glad the dire need resolved itself. I had a feeling it might.

Nice, though, to see the forum regs come together to try and solve the needs of a compadre. A nice contrast to the more oft seen chest puffing and hot air blowing =P

Situation resolved!

Now that people are back at work this Monday morning, calls were made. Our dispatching agent advises that the shipper was confused and the cargo control equipment we have on our truck is sufficient.

Special thanks for the help and good humor ...

I know they are not needed anymore, but, I found them at the Iowa 80. They have a 15 inch chain on the ends and a hook. Cost is about $102 each.

I've had a number of custom straps made for our company at strapworks.com they're a small shop and you can get someone pretty sharp on the phone usually who can get what you need fabbed up and shipped. I'm not affiliated with them but have used them many times over the past decade. Prices are decent too.

I hauled this Special Load for Landstar while at FedEx.
It cemented my move to Landstar.
I became the go-to truck for this shipment.
Added 6 -6000lb capacity D-Rings, had special straps made.
1200 lb one piece cargo.
Value 15 Million.
First load escorted by US Marshals.
They insisted on nailing into my wooden reefer floor but agreed to pay to replace the floor.
(After the floor bill, we worked together to secure w/o anymore nails.)
It involved D-Rings, custom straps( which Lodi Metals made for me in camo ) and padded bars. No metal allowed to touch freight.
It was an interesting, profitable load.
We probably did 8 or 10 of them.

I’ve thought of revisiting this thread but never looked for it. Tripped across it today.
