Ok, so I ve had the same truck for about 6 years now, and sitting here today in Nashvegas, I was just looking out the window as the rain wasn't washing my truck and once again looked out my passenger window and asked my self, "just wtf is that stupid little mirror for over my passenger window for?" It's great for looking at the step and maybe the lellow line in the parking lot, but other than that, what dumb reason did Frightliner have for putting it there, they are on all m'2's and most tractors, so, your guess is as good as mine.

Adj it out a little and you can eyeball things like fireplugs next to your tank or step. Few people get into the habit of using them. A liability induced option I'd say.

It's a blind spot mirror for when you're changing lanes. They ARE very useful.

You know the problem with bad cops? They make the other 5% look bad.

I actually know this one .
it's a left over from back in the days when all we had are tall cabover's trucks ,
and only 10.5 foot thin travel lines.
it's allow you to see that you hugging the white line.

Just ask Moot.
back then it was 'keep to the right', (which was a great skill).
nowdays with the multiples 12 foot wides, it's 'keep to the middle', (and there for the 'lane departure' craps'...)

I don't have a 'blind spot' the steps of my truck. I can see everything from my hood mirror. I could see NOTHING out of mine except my steps. It is long gone. I did put a bigger diameter mirror on the hood, THAT helped a lot. I can see from just forward of my steps to almost two lanes on my right.

If all you could see was your steps, then it wasn't adjusted right. You should see the ground past the steps, so you can see what's there when you're changing lanes.
