Dateline Bellevue, WA: Three dingy chicks took the concept of following directions of one's GPS a little too far the other day when they followed its directions to make a U-turn onto a dock and into a lake. They were rescued by firemen who drove them to a hotel.

A blonde was in the middle of a desert rowing a boat. Another blonde drives by sees this and says, "If I could swim I'd go out there and kick your butt!" Lol

There are just far too many stupid people out there. Anyone who blindly follows any tool while driving deserves to end up in the water. I hope they are charged for the clean up and rescue.

Having said that. ALL of the GPS units have far too many mistakes. They have been out long enough to be more accurate than what they are.

Many of the marine versions have done a pretty darn good job of transferring marine charts into GPS receivers. There is really no valid excuse for road systems to be as bad as they are.

Haha! That is so funny. Some people really have no business getting a gps. I mean, don't the headlights provide insight as to what type of surface you are driving on and to your surroundings? I just don't know that I could drive down a boat launch that more than likely says boat launch and not know it, lol.

What it REALLY boils down to is that IF you too stupid to use a GPS as a flawed tool you should not even be allowed to drive.

btw ... Rand McNally, TND500, was "supposed" to have a major update yesterday ... the unit still will not update. I called them, they say the server crashed due high usage.

This is a major overhaul, all gps units will have one. It comes from the folks that provide the datbase for the gps units.

Maybe, just maybe, this will remove some of these dumb errors.

Only a few of them.

I went to Rushsylvania, Oh today to load for Sc ... I had never heard of the place. I turned on my TND500, and it said, "Please insert SD card" .. this version never had a SD card to begin with.

Something went wrong while I was trying for the June 15 update. It wiped the memory out of the unit.

Rand McNally wants me to return it to the factory for repairs. I declined, asking if the update, whenever it becomes available, would perhaps correct the issue, as it would actually reprogram the unit, They did not know ... "maybe" was the answer I got.

Isn't technology great!
