That may be true but lets not forget, that some farmers do have their hands out to accept money NOT to grow things. Actually.....quite a few. Have to look at ALL of the picture.

Many are forced to accept money NOT to grow. It is very complicated. The idea of 'resting' land for a few years is based on solid science. MOST farmers cannot afford to place land out of production due to high land taxes, cost of equipment, fixed/discounted commodity prices, etc. ALL of those problems are 110% the fault of government.

There ARE ways to farm, at a profit, that allow for 'resting' of land, allow for wildlife habitat etc. NONE of those can be put into operation as long as government controls farming.

Food is a weapon. When government controls the production of food and prices they control the People. Look to Washington if one wants to know why things are a mess.

Nope. Charity encourages dependence. That is why, for the most part, it is illegal to feed wild animals. It works the same for people. The more you do for them, the more dependent they become.

I know many farmers, some friends, some relatives. NONE of them want charity. To a man, or woman, all want freedom to farm as they please, set their own prices, and grow what they chose. They ALL say the same thing, government interference is the problem. Those who support the government assist in the control over their lives. Willie supports the Marxists that seek to control the food supply. He is a joke and it is VERY easy to see through.

NO human who is worth his/her'it's weight in salt wants charity. A MAN, using the PROPER English term, will ALWAYS choose to do it on His own. Anything else is nothing more than prostituting one's self.

True freedom is found ONLY in self reliance.

To sugest there is some Comparison between not wanting charity and being ready to lose the family farm and having no other options is to say the least ignorant. I grew up in a farm community half.my childhood friends are farmers my sister and her husband own a dairy farm and my parents both came from farm families. I know a good deal about the American farmer and how they look at life.

You need to read what the farm aid concerts were about before going off on another of your self righteous rants. To state someone's charity work is not valuable because of their politics and let that guide your thought process hurts what could be a valuable post that being regulations in the farm industry.

To understand so little about people that you can truly think charity is never honestly needed is in itself mind numbing.

I too grew up with farmers, both friends and family. I hunt with farmers. Not one wants any kind of charity. They are hard working, proud people. They want to make it on their own. To a person they all say that government interference is the single biggest problem their business faces.

Charity can be good, in VERY limited doses. People can and do become dependent on hand outs and freebies. The idea that a farmer, or anyone, cannot succeed on their own and REQUIRES help is in itself, mind numbing.

WOW!! thats all I can say WOW

Government has NO business in farming. They are regulating farming to the same degree as they are trucking. Government is the biggest problem that trucking faces as well. Government IS the cause of our problems NOT the solution and they will always be the problem.
