Isuzu has a new one similar to that coming out soon. It is more aerodynamic, getting about 20mpg on diesel according to a tester I spoke with. The B10 on the engine is 310k miles. They are going to offer a version with regular doors instead of sliding soon (?) after that. The drawback is ~4500 pound load capacity due to 12k gvw. It's still appealing.

I knew the cabover with Supreme box and really aero and cool looking was out. The last I heard the "bread truck" one was fall 2011. It could be out though. I haven't kept up.

Ok you meant the bread truck. I know the aero is out I think that brick shaped one will have a tough time getting good fuel mileage.

Yes, I should have clarified. I was told by a tester they got 20mpg with the bread truck but were driving specifically for best mpg. He thought all but the worst drivers could get 16-17 unless all city short hop rush hour lead foot etc then 14-15 probably. He said it doesn't jump out and grab you but there are a number of subtle aero touches etc designed for mpg improvements. I think he said around upper $40's.
