Do you have the MBE 4000??
There is a common problem with their fuel rail connections.

Hey, whata ya know, turns out fuel lines and compressers are common problems on my FL106 too. And i thought i had er licked when i upgraded from that FL70 with the little cat motor to the detroit deisel. I guess they showed me!

Grog... I posted something awhile back about "black death" in the a/c system. It's when parts start breaking down and leave metal shavings in the lines. The system will never be up to snuff until they totally flush the system (sometimes 3 or 4 times) to get the shavings out. Do you think that might be your problem?

T-Hawk,
I think that is what BamBam's problem is, no one is properly repairing the A/C system.

I spent $2100.00 at Thermo-King on a reefer unit because they said they were properly cleaning the system. As it turned out I had to take it to a small shop near my home. They pulled 3 vaccums on the system to remove the shavings. Two years now and no further problems. Its amazing how big business makes a living off the truck driver. Make sure you get the system properly cleaned and the problem will go away. Just advice.

"They pulled 3 vaccums on the system to remove the shavings."

?

Do you mean that they just vacuumed the system or they properly flushed the system?

when we had a M2 i had my brother (a nother uneducated redneck)
put on a condencer he flushed, ran dryer, pulled 1 vac and never had a problem out of it
but then we don't run the truck and ac around the clock unless its just a must

It took 3 times to rid the system. You have to understand the problems at Thermo-King resulted in two failed compressors so there was quite a bit of junk in the lines. Once all was cleared I have had no problems and the unit runs either on the engine or the shore unit 24/7 365.
Hope you get it going!

From what I understand with black death... they purge the system, refill, purge, refill, purge... until they get no more shavings. It also means replacing several parts that the shavings will be embedded in, and parts that already started breaking down due to the shavings, such as the compressor. It's not too bright to purge the system clean, but leave the compressor which just starts the shavings circulating again.

That's exactly what I went through. My disapointment was with Themo-King. I took it to the mfg. service center feeling that the best way to avoid shade trees was to have it repaired properly. Wrong answer. They reimbursed me for all the parts, but the downtime was a killer that I had to eat. Please follow the advice of all here and get the thing flushed and flushed again and your problem will be solved.
Stay safe!

Dang. Thank's t-hawk! I do remember you saying that before and i meant to have that done and like a dope, i forgot. Strange thing is the freightliner dealer over in mount clemens has helped me out with several problems that they have seen multiple times,(something my local guy was'nt good at), but when they changed the last compressor last fall,(i changed the first one myself at the beginning of last summer), they never mentioned anything , but like greg and robsdad also said, the idea of shaving's make's perfect sense! Thank's guy's!

Grog... since you're in the Detroit area, I recommend Arrow truck repair. They're on Fort Street, practically under the bridge. They've been in business since the 20s, and there's a reason for it. Last time I was in was a couple years ago, and they STILL remember me. Reliable, decent price, and they stand by their work. I'm not sure if they do a/c, but they do just about everything.

Transmission job on a fl-106: Wolverine Freightliner - $7200; Arrow - $4200

thought you were in a company truck,Bam.Your issues can happen to any truck, dont just blame it on freightliner, espeially the ac issue, that sounds like a mechanic screw up.
