More on Duramax in cargo van

I picked up a copy of Newport's " Road Star " magazine . A couple of areas where the Chevy has Ford beat . They "offer " (extra charge option ? ) a fuel powered coolant heater for faster warmups . Anyone with Ford expeience knows they can idle forever in freezing temperatures without producing any heat . Chevy also claims they will start instantly in cold weather - another Ford weak spot .

never had either problem with my ford. i got the 7.3 im scared of the new motors with egr. hope to get a million out of mine

I had a '99 Ford 7.3 and it had a real problem with glow plugs . Two winters in a row they had to be replaced . Ford may have made improvements in later years .
