More legal issues

I've been picking up freight lately at companies that reproduce new release CD's, videos, and video games. It's almost like going through an FBI investigation to pick up at these places. The thing that concerns me most is they all want to make a copy of your drivers license. Where do these copies end up when they are finished with them? NOW--Identity theft and the security of my family become an issue. You do'nt have to be a rocket scientist to take a drivers license and find out anything about anyone you want to know. After all I arrive at these places in a well marked company vehicle, and have pick up numbers and customer purchase order numbers. Can they legally require me to surrender personal info such as my drivers license in order to pick up a load?

Attempting to make a pleasant work place for drivers!

OK, there is more security at these plants and distribution centers than at a military base.

Look I have to tell you this; they are trying to protect their assets. These record companies/distributors are at war with consumers and want to make sure that every copy of the latest 50 cent CD gets to the store so they can rip off more people with their unreal profits. Music theft is the number one crime according to the RIAA.

If I were you, I would not worry about them. It is their requirements to protect their assets and they make the rules because they are the customer.

Now about identity theft, I am going to say something that may p*** a few people off. First do you really think that they have to have your driver’s license? Not a bit. All the need to know is your name and city. It is unreal how easy it is to find your information.

Second no one talks about the outsourcing of data entry jobs to countries that support terrorism, like Pakistan. Think about this, a lot of credit card companies, banks and medical companies all use in some form or another off shore processing with your vital information (complete address, SS number, etc..). We have absolutely no jurisdiction in many of these countries to put in jail these people. So with that said what if Pakistan and India go to war? What happens to the flow of information that used for our everyday lives?

I could go on about this but I think you get the picture.
