more $ in van or straight truck?

Ok folks. I got a class A. I can't drive a semi for Panther because I have to have 6 months experience. I currently drive a cargo van. Would I be better off driving a straight truck "for" an owner/operator or would I be better off as an o/o in a cargo van? Panther doesn't seem to need experience to drive a straight truck. Owning a straight is out of the question due to personal reasons.

Totally aside from the financial aspects, which are dependent on so many variables, there's the quality of life to consider. In your shoes, I chose to drive a D unit for an owner, and it's been a good choice for me. If only because, (to borrow a line from Highway Star), it's a nicer place to sit, lol. For me, that's worth the aggravation of HOS, logs, scales, etc. Only you know if it would be worth it to you.
