I would be inclined to believe that the number of people flocking to a novice for advice would be limited as well.
But, Phil can always keep dreaming.

Ya know what? Service is what defines this business. In other words [git r done]!!!!!
A policy of train em (well), empower them, then support them, would be the "cats meow". However(large comma) Waayyy, waaayyy to many contractors out ther couldn't/won't take their own destiny into their OWN hands. They truly figgure it can't be done.

After all these years reading here i'm still reading bout da blues of how the "company" has their foot on the back not "giving ME" what I need. Truly SAD!!!!!

Seems there are {some} truly intelligent folks wanting to butttt, why not?????????

Find an organization that will allow you, then keep your part of the agreement.

If you can?????

as a lowely van driver i cant remember the last time i had a weekend load!! probably a year ago or more....stay the weekend out within 500 miles of home????not a chance, for $70.00 i can drive home, sit around the pool drinking beer, have the kids over, have a bonfire...but then again i could sit in my van over the weekend in 90 degree weather.idling my $70.00 away,or maybe even splurge on a motel and food? another $70.00 geeze thats a tough decision to make...
That is excactly what I am doing now.Dissapointed in this week's revenue, only had 1- 705 mile run. Hopefully, next week will be better.

We have not change our plan. We like to stay out for 4-8 weeks then home for a few days. When we get close to home we will shoot home for a day or two if it is a weekend. It is much cheeper than staying out. besides there are still some venison steaks in the freezer!!

If we are looking at a weekend at a truck stop or a less than 200 mile DH to have a weekend at the house, see family, do some fishing or hunting and have unlimited showers, well, it is a no brainer.

We did interupt that plan this month. We WERE home when my son and granddaughter were. THAT is more important.

Had a total of 3 runs last week. Grand total of 658 miles. That was it. Had a run on Sunday. Waited on Sun evening, monday and Tuesday. Got a run wednesday morning from Niles, Ill to Kalamazoo, MI then a run on Friday from Euclid, Oh to Findlay, Ohio. I've got a run picking up on Monday, but who knows if it will cancel going from Toledo, Ohio to Waxahatchie, TX. I hope I can get another run before the end of the week. Last week totally sucked.

When we first started driving, we had to go home sometime between the 1st and 5th of the month every month to make our house payment and pay some other bills that could not be paid online. Since we no longer have those bills we tend to stay out for 6 to 8 weeks at a time and then go home and out of service for a few days. We were last home over Mother's Day weekend but we were in service the whole time.

We are planning on going home at the end of this month and taking a whole week off, to celebrate some family birthdays and the 4th of July. I'm sure we will be out for 6 to 8 weeks after that unless a drop takes us close to home for some "free" time at home without going out of service.
