I can only reply to a few of your questions. The company you run for usually will have a card carrier they use. What happens is when you use the approved company provided card such as ComData or T-Chek they get an electronic receipt. The carrier will then use the information to track your fuel taxes. Most companies have also negotiated a discount with the different fuel providers. When you use cash you will get the cash price and then most have what they call a credit price which is even more. When using these two methods you will not get the carriers discount at the pump or a rebate. To load the card you will take an advance on what is usually your next load you have accepted or you are under a load.

Bob & Linda , since you are OOIDA members I'm surprised you didn't recommend the Truckers Advantage card . Most fuel stops (not Flying J with their hot fuel ) will sell fuel at the cash price using this card . Fees using ComData are excessive , especially with smaller trucks that have to fuel often . I know fleets that use Fleet One cards get monthly rebate checks when using Pilot . Truckers Advantage is a Fleet One card but I haven't heard of Truckers Advantage card holders getting these rebates . Truckers Advantage either debits daily or weekly from your checking account . I had direct deposit from ComData to my checking account . As soon as I got an advance I would deposit in my checking account to avoid ComData fees .
