Money and beautiful landscape this weekend

While I will go just about anywhere for the money, I really wasn't looking forward to Logan International Airport and heading through Boston.

Well, turns out getting to the airport is not that big of a deal, and unlike JFK in New York and O'Hare in the Wit-less City, Logan is actually marked and layed out pretty darn well.

Getting out of there and heading in the right direction was a little tricky, but what the heck I took a tour of some of the older neighborhoods nearby....LOL.

Then I headed off to New Hampshire, then back out through Vermont - to get over to Syracuse, New York. I never in my 53-years have passed through Vermont - but WOW what a sight with all the trees changing colors, the hills, mountains, the sun striking just the right beam of light down - it was really something.

So - nice views and some money in my pocket....a decent weekend to the pocket and to the eyes. WHAT A BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY WE ARE GRACED WITH!

I do believe that Fall is God's way of letting us forgive Him for winter...

It was an absolutely beautiful day here...and the trees are beautiful..gorgeous day to work outside.

I remember the first autumn we had on the road and found ourselves driving the winding roads of Connecticut when the leaves were at their peak. As we wove our way through the countryside it dawned on us that people pay money to take the very same drive we were being paid to take.

There is no question about it. Seeing the country while getting paid to drive is one of the great benefits of expediting. Check out the tourist fun Diane and I had just yesterday in San Francisco.

I will never forget the absolutely, incredible and beautiful state of Vermont...and home to Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream.

Thanks Ft Wayne! We do indeed live in a beautiful and great country...I think we often look past what we have and what we are surrounded by and Fall does remind us of the beauty of gods creation! Thanks for the reminder, I will be paying a bit more attention!!

Now if I can just listen to music on the XM intead of "talk radio"....:D

Late September and early October in New England is referred to up there as "Leaf Peeping Season," where the "Leafers" or "Leaf Peepers" (both are pejoratives from the perspective of the locals) arrive in droves to view and photograph the fall foliage, as well as to spend money on motels and in restaurants and shops.

If you ever get the chance to drive from west-central Vermont to west-central Maine, across the heart of the Vermont, New Hampshire and the White Mountain National Forrest, it's a trip that will blow your mind at any time of the year. I just don't recommend doing it in the middle of the winter, at night, like I did once.

The northern half of Michigan's lower and all of the upper is stunning this time of year. Great in the winter too!!

Thanks Fort Wayne.

Yes Layoutshooter upper michigan is beautifull this time of year as well, even "da uppers" will agree. Looks like we will not see the colors of the north this year.

Like I have said to my better half many times " I would have never seen the beautiful landscape this country has to offer if not for this job."

WHAT A BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY WE ARE GRACED WITH!

When I returned home from Iraq 2 years ago, I was in awe at the color in the landscape. I really started re-appreciating things I had long ago taken for granted. After 14 months of just shades of brown, my senses were overwhelmed. I hope to never again take for granted the beauty our country has to offer!
