Is it ok to put a different tire on the rear? meaning 5 are the same the driverside inside rear is different.I wouldn't consider it in the front but was wondering if the back will wear funny. The tires are all the same size different brands.

I had to replace 2 on one side because I had a blow out and the tires that i have i couldnt get from the place i was at.So i have 2 different brands and tread designs and i have not had any problems.

Just make sure the tire(s) are the same height, measure them with a tape! A too tall or short tire will carry or transfer all the load.

It seems to my non-sixwheeler brain that you should always have two of the same milage on each wheel. A new and an old tire will likely give you the same effect as the older tire reacting like it was under inflated. No?

I agree, but the tires have about 10,000 miles on them so there very even.I am not in the trk so am going by the driver and the tire guys, who i talked to and gave up a sale cause i was gonna get a new set to match them and the rest of the tires[brand and model] but he said i'd be fine.He also said i should take tire that went bad to a goodyear wigfoot dealer and cause of the low miles they may pro rate it,he couldn't cause he isn't a wingfoot goodyr which i think is owned by the comp [goodyear] there calles Briggs and Sons around Fayetteville N.C the have 5 or 6 stores in the area. The guy i talked to was at the commercal trk store, wish i had more info cause they were more then fair with me.

I have allways heard that as long as they were the same height you would not have a problem.

This stuff can always happen so you just match as best you can. Tread differences will not have much of an effect. For instance, If I replace all four with tall rubber tires, since they are scarce, I may carry a used 11R22.5 tire in the box. If the tread is slightly different, no biggie. The main point is trying to keep heights the same.
