Another thread got me thinking about this. Here's the challenge. You have to post about your own outfit and service and not say anything about anybody else's unit. I know there's a lot of inter-service rivalry and probably a lot of it is good natured but since folks may read this that won't be in on the inside joke please leave them out. Nothing but positives please.
I wasn't in because I have significant foot problems and couldn't qualify. Two surgeries later I still need at least 1 more. When I can't walk I'll get it.
Out of my dad and 10 uncles all 11 were in WW2 and all 11 came home and amazingly enough not 1 of the 11 was even injured. My dad was in the 36th division, 141st infantry. He drove the biggest truck and got the most important loads because he was the best driver of his outfit. He supplied from north Africa all the way to the end. My favorite uncle was in the navy and was a primary radio operator aboard ship. One was air force and the rest were army. I have a few cousins and in-laws that also served in the interim years.
