Miles Teams Make... Week, Month

Hello, I'm curious folks, since I've not driven truck team before but would consider it (with the right female - who comes from a wealthy family, that has a good boat, motor, and trailer, can cook, etc.) Smile!. Only joking, but I sure got your attention didn't I?
SMILE!!!

Anyways, What do teams make with companies like PII, FedEx, Conway Now, and Tri-State and Express-1??? Talkin' straight truck #'s Only.

I'd like to hear from Teams who actually run for these companies.
Miles and rough money figures? Low and high, your average #'s being pulled? when are peak and off peak times for teams? is it the same for solo's in your opinion? Solo Driver here writing this thread.
a girlfriend of mine has thought about getting a straight truck and runnin' expediting freight - she used to drive for Swift, so she's plenty qualified.

What do teams run alot of? Automotive or ? pharmaceuticals?
if you have a lift gate do you run more inner city with team?
if you have a 3 axle rig as opposed to a 2 axle rig what's the mileages for a team a week and a month?

Where do they run you? still in eastern US? or do you run TX to MI? or CA to east coast? when are the busy times for a team? weekends it seems with PII, solo's seem to be given the weekends off with PII alot. Have any of you run solo then switched to team? what's the main differences - and not just talkin' pay, what else would a solo have to get used to when runnin' team, besides sleep patterns?

Running team, what's good equipment to have? large sleeper of what size is nice? ofcourse the bigger the better, but interested in hearing what teams on EO here are running for sleeper sizes, besides DaveKC that is - they're the exception. Smile Dave!

Lift gates for teams? I rarely used my lift gate as a solo with PII.
Pallet jack was nice to have though, as a solo, but what about with a team? Reefer units? Are Reefer units more for FedEx WG division? I know PII has about 3 straight trucks with reefer's and they're runnin' so hard they don't know what state they're in from what I'm told. I also know that PII teams runnin' A&E loads are runnin' hard too, they need more over there - Irwin in Special Services Division was tellin' me if I went team with PII he could get me A&E Loads no problem - I think it made a difference though if you had a liftgate and 3 axle rig. I was in PII Spec. Serv. Div. and their work was gradually going up I noticed for me...
it's too bad I got in with a bad owner with a lemon of a truck, every repair shop I took it to said the same thing, the FL80 wasn't designed to have a large tall sleeper on it plus all the other weight that was on the truck-lift gate, liftable tag, plumbing system - the rig was 24,600 lbs. (empty of freight)with full twin 50 gallon fuel tanks, and a full 40 gallon fresh water tank.

Let's talk, as I'm sure other's are curious about team operations as well.

I'm very curious to see what teams do in the way of miles and the kinds of loads they haul - as opposed to solo's

Not really into the whole "Business Plan" aspect of things as a driver, but learning as I read on this awesome site with awesome site filled with awesome people... anyways,
Tazman mentioned the figures of nearly 4,000 miles a week, for a team. I don't know if that's easily done for 3 weeks a month or not. I know as a solo I was barely cuttin' out 800 to 1,000 miles a week, on average it was 1,200 miles a week I'd say. Had I really gotten alot of backhauls I could have easily done as a solo straight truck I'd say...about 1,500 to 2,000 miles a week roughly.
What kind of miles do teams generally run, on average, with most companies??? Let's hear those figures? I'm curious as I'm sure many other's are as well. Team Miles: A Day? A week? a Month?

Those numbers can vary greatly from company to company. Some will tell you 4 to 5 thousand and some will tell you 5 to 6 thousand. Keep in mind that it is not always the miles you are turning, but what are you making on the miles you turn. You have too much information to answer in one sitting, but if you message me with your number will share with you what I know relating to team running for Panther.

Thanks DD, will be calling... curious though for #'s on here, on a lighter note, is it top secret information?

why won't anybody discuss #'s on EO?
I want to see #'s and information here. talking on the phone is nice, but curious to see the different numbers and responses and compare them all. reason I posted is to see if everybody who runs team is gonna say the same information and #'s when it comes to team driving. Especially curious about the different companies. Would like to hear from drivers and owners alike. Thanks, BBB

Why is it that other people think that it is their business what every one makes? The way I was brought up, if I asked a queston like that in front of my old man I would still be laying on the floor. If you are asking what team milage pay is then that is different.I guess that I just don`t understand the me generation.:(

It is easier to explain how certain numbers are generated (via phone conversation) If I just list numbers with no explanations, they could be misleading. A new person to the industry for example, can't use the numbers of one who is experienced. It would give unreal expectations to someone just starting.

SilverDollar, since I posted... I've yet to get ANY questions answered really... and this is a site that is here for drivers and owners alike to gather information to use in our business... the business of expediting. We're here to get better, and be better at what we do - this site has helped me in the past and continues to do so.
Example, in another post talking in reference to detention pay, another EO member brought up the idea of splitting it 40/60, 60% going to the owner - which I never thought about, but think is a great idea.
I'm looking for information here so that when I do become an owner I can do it better educated.
I've been given numbers to call - thank you to those folks, I will be calling this week -
but I've yet to be given any information here... read the original post - it asks many questions, and I'm not asking anybody to tell me what they make exactly, just rough figures, do teams make 400 a week or do they average closer to 1,500 a week? rough figures, what numbers in expediting are capable by driving team? Do teams average 2,000 miles a week or 3,500 miles a week? I'm seeking to team drive and/or get a truck and put a team in it.

WOW,

Sorry newbies, thought this would be a better thread and we'd all get more information and learning from this.
So much for that.

I am very Surprised that this thread was not able to offer us more information.

Bob , three people offered to discuss their operations with you by phone. What's wrong with that? You asked for a ton of information and as Dave said what's normal for him might be high for me or vice versa.
Also different companies have different procedures ,why don't you get the official information from the recruiters and then post that Recruiter A for B company said I can average this. Is this normal or low or high? You would probably get a better cross section of replies that way..

Bob, as you indicated with Panther, andthe same with FedEx, alot of revenue numbers will be different depending on what you are hauling. Example would be reefer loads, governments loads, white glove type loads ect. A new person would probably not being doing that many loads of that nature. Our personal averages are as low as $2,000 a week to $8,000. Alot of variables determine those numbers. As those are gross numbers, we have netted more money at times on a 4,000 wk versus a 6,000 wk. That is why a explanation is warranted to show how those numbers are generated. Should mention that those are team numbers and shouldn't be examples of someone starting out. $2,000 to $3,000 for a team is a better average and I hate to throw averages out there like that. Some may do much higher or lower depending on previous experience, truck size, and a whole lot of other variables.
Much easier to do on a phone call.

bob, i have a 4 month period that i have all the numbers for.1 month when i was a solo, and the other 3 as a team operation.i am presently just sitting here in sunny so. califonia with plenty of time to talk to you.but that will probably not be the case later today(hopefully).as rich and dave said , you ask for alot of information and if we tried to answer with all the variables it would be quite lenghty. DD and Dave, thanks for the input, I meant to call ya'll today, but got wound up with family that was still here from the holiday weekend. My mom and aunt and her sister were here and they all got a bit tipsy, so I ended up doing all the cooking and even alot of the cleaning, as well as being a designated driver. I will certainly try to call you all within the next day or 2 no doubt. Those numbers are very interesting and I know those are very very rough numbers, but atleast I've got something to work with now. We'll be talking. Hope all is well out there... Later, BigBus'

Silverdollar, While I understand the point you are making, the difference here is we all have one thing in common, expediting. I have found that most of us don't mind talking about income. Those that do mind just don't talk about it. A newbie would much rather hear what a driver has to say than a recruiter. But in the spirit of your post, I wouldn't ask someone, e.g. a nurse or an accountant, what they make just because I wanted to know. That would be rude.
