I hope to make it there but my carrier keeps giving me loads lol.

RnR is nice no doubt about but I just went 2 weeks with no loads, albeit one week was if my choosing. I like being lazy it's relaxing lol

A few years back I hauled my first Explosive load.
I was near Louisville and the company bugged me all night to run it. Thankfully the price kept going UP.

I felt like I was the only truck in the fleet.
I was. Anybody else that was qualified and near Louisville wasn't going to be hauling freight.

As much as I love going to MATS, it's often the best week of the year for me.

You probably won't believe the crowds.
When I go, I do Thur/Fri. Sat is too crowded . Hard to interact with vendors.
My advice, is about two months prior to show, dedicate a little pocket notebook to the show and write down every question you can think of.
You can get the answers, if you ask the question.
I would go in and on Thur have a list of Vendors to quiz.
Michelin, Eaton, Detroit Diesel, etc.
Solve problems, and then go enjoy the show.
I've only been to show once since entering expediting. Prior to having a smart phone. Maybe wouldn't need a notebook and not quite as hungry for knowledge as Straights are simpler than T/T.
And I'm lazier now.

The show is more than advertised. I drove my first auto shift there. And one vendor, upon realizing I was seriously interested in buying a new class 8, quietly bussed my family to a local track. I rode in a Craftsman series truck, at speed, prior to test driving one of their support fleet trucks in real world conditions.
They gave the family rides, free food to entertain them while I was trucking.

That year we saw Reba, Brooks & Dunn, and Alabama concerts for free.

Last show we saw Big & Rich. Missed the Fabulous Thunderbirds due to too many old people in the group. :(

Cold rainy weather here today. Feel bad for all the people with the show trucks. Also the wreckers in the dirt parking lot are gonna be making a lot of money pulling people out of the mud pit. :(

I'm in the Tri State ford lol

We are back at our truck. We are in the FedEx straight parked parallel to the curb behind the load1 vans. Big beareded guy and short girl. Come on over and say hi

That by the way is way better than a short bearded lady. Which I think I may have seen one at the show.

I totally did at the ARI sleeper exhibit lol. Lady rocking a full on goatee

Did you stop looking at the goatee long enough to look at the sleepers.
Some of them are large enough to hold 3 pallets. ( if gutted out.)
