I suppose you guys have nothing like the Criminals Victims Act?..it is where I thing 2% of every ticket, every fine is put into a pot and victims of crimes can apply and be reimbursed for medical/ lost wages/ therapy....the criminals are actually funding this not the taxpayers...

Michigan has some kind of "victims" pool, but I know nothing about it. I don't know about other states.

Yes it is an Ontario program....another one that they privatized....the courts collect it and it goes into a private trust managed outside of government but still government oversight but politicians have NO access to steal the funds.....just as they did with the pension plan and unemployment ins. fund...

Good idea, keeping government out of it as much as possible. Politicians have proven, throughout the ages and across the globe, that they cannot be trusted with other people's money.

The politicians down here have to honest with themselves first and ADMIT they can NOT manage money....they do NOT have the skills....most are lawyers NOT book keepers or money managers

Numerous places have those kinds of programs. As long as there a vehicle to remedy the wrong, that is all that is needed. And it looks like there are several to pick from.
