They cost a lot more than that. That's about 13,500 each for 298 cars and they probably cost 1/4-1/3 more than that. They'll be selling them all off for $6k-$8k each in a few weeks and ordering another 300 current models. Can't expect government employees to drive around "new" cars that are half a decade old.
