This Comming weekend is Memorial Day weekend So far out of 21 Teams Ive have talked to out here they said they are all packing it in. Going home. till June 5th or 6th.
If Im running Ill stay out.
I wont stay out here during the Holidays doing nothing.
ILL go home like the rest of them.

Its a win win for me I run I make a buck
I go home I see the family during the Holidays.
Like I said either way I win.

I intend to do ALL I can to insure that there is PLENTY of walleye on the plate! I will be heading straight for MY ROCK!!

In good years, at the best time of year, I take 60 fish off that rock. Then I quit. It normally takes 10 days fishing with a 6 fish limit. Short days too. Get those six keepers in a couple hours. I could limit out quicker but I am picky about what I keep. Can't be under 15" and I have a personal high side of 18".

I've been meaning to try this... Granny’s Lemon Batter Fish

Dip in:
1/3 cup lemon juice
1/2 cup flour, all purpose or Gluten free all purpose

... Pour Lemon Juice into shallow bowl. In separate shallow bowl place flour. Dip fillets in lemon juice; then flour; then finish with a coat of batter.

Batter:
1 cup flour, all purpose or Gluten free all purpose
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp thyme
1/4 tsp pepper
1 egg
2/3 cup water
1/3 cup lemon juice

2 pounds cod fillets
Oil for frying

For Batter: In shallow bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, thyme, sugar and pepper; set aside. Beat egg and combine with water and lemon juice; stir into dry flour mixture until smooth.

In a large skillet, over medium-high heat, heat one inch of oil. Fry fish, few fillets at a time, for 2 to 3 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Drain on paper towels. Serve with tarter sauce or your favorite dipping sauce. Serves 5

You are never sure what will happen on a long weekend but we stayed out as is our custom. Sitting in Denver, just got booked on two loads. First picks up today and delivers straight through. Next picks up at that location and takes us cross country. We'll be working all weekend for $1.80 per mile all miles and end up in a good freight area on Tuesday morning. We don't like to run at that rate often but given the long weekend, two long runs and good final delivery location we took it.
