Take a Look at Page 1 and Page 21 of the Trucker


14 years ago this type of ordeal was induced to service members. on there Id Cards. Called Cac. Now we will have them on our drivers license.

What this will do is get rid of the medicaly unfit out here on the road.

Get rid of the people that run to those Fly by night Dot Medical
quacks and slide them a 50 and get there cards.

There are Drivers out here that are on blood thiners there are drivers out here that are type 2 Dibetics but 3 - 4 hours after they take there meds there blood sugar is 210 220 but ya say Your fine. Reality check anything for a diabetic over 200 is dangerous. Thats just a tip of the iceburg there are people out here that cant stay in the saddle so to speak. They dont need to be out here on the road. Falling asleep at the wheel. Good grief.

Ya this is going to thin out the drivers for sure.

I think its great. Its about time Uncle Sam steped in.

The truck driver at one time was a Knight of the road now today his consider not much more than a thug.

Say what ya will but Truth is its bigger than the biggest ones out here. Now its only going to get Better becasue it will be more fare.

IRS Audits on pay records, Black lists on Companies and People
Individuals. so on and so forth.

Oh The Power of A MFM with the backing of the Federal Govt.

ITs Bigger than you are.

Now maybe you will get outa those trucks and get fit for the road.

If your unfit you dont belong out here (FOREMAN INCLUDED)

So get yourself in shape and Medicaly fit People if you want to keep doing this line of work.

I do agree that unfit drivers need to be gone. But I will always wonder if it's the first step in the government making us log what we eat, how much sleep we get, if we smoke, etc. If they're gonna control us, at least we should get a government salary out of them.

I'm not the one to post a respond on the Soap box...yet,
i cant see any good outa it all,
heck ,and im the one that exercise almost daily ,im fit and healthy .
so i know first hand how hard it is to stay that way out here.

i think you are missing some points:

* do we really need the Federal Gov. to step in and mandate a new Commercial driver license ?
when was the last time they regulated the CDL in a good way ?

*do you think that by the end it will come out of your pocket ,for adding this line on your CDL ? (see: twick ,HazMat,...and for more reference you can ask any WG/Elite drivers...)

*is it a real problem ?, is there any research out there to show that unfit/unhealthy drivers are more likely to be involved in an accident ?
is it going to solved safety ? , or the lack of loads for you ?

*many of those drivers are supporting a family ,if not driving ,they will have very little choice as to, how to bring home a good pay check.
trucking is ,still, a good and EZ way for many American households to make a living .

*you say it will make it more fair ,
its not !!!
well ,do we really need Uncle Sam to leveled the Field for us ?
be very careful what we wish for ! ,think what next. and how match power we have in Wa. DC. .

*as always ,we need to take a look what started it , and hoe sponsor this thing.(i dont know ,it is interesting )

*if left unemployed ,those sick drivers , is there a chance they will become a wealth care individuals ? ,aren't we all going to pay ?

if they like to regulate ,let them regulate the Clinics that provide this service , and leave my CDL alone...

I think the point to all this is Get rid of the Medicaly Unfit drivers out here, and If by chance it cleans the house up so to speak then Great Im all for it.

I got mine from Cracker Jacks. Only took 127 boxs before I hit the motherload. Then I had to JOG 4-5 miles to the Latrine in 20 below 0 weather to unload the overload!!
No DH either!!!

Moose hit on the question I have. Where is the evidence that this is some big problem? Certainly, the lobbying groups that hate truckers would be all over this if the hard evidence were there. Heck, perfectly healthy exercise freaks keel over with heart attacks. We'll never have any guarantee that truckers won't have health related problems.

No I think you need to take a look at yourself

On my Birthday my access wouldnt work so I made up a new one and had to create a new mail as it wouldnt let me in with the same address. No big deal. I believe Lawerence Knows that as I made a Post Very Funney. Well I will not use subzero any more just for you. OK.

Far as fare weather drivers go look at your self realy good.
Last year while the big boys sat on there buts in Baltimore
I went through one heck of a ice storm for the Company.
Big deal need I remind you of the CT Ice Storm. Any way I dont got nothing to prove to no one out here. The tractor and Trailer I drive doesnt have Auto Matic Chaines either.
Hint. Got to be done Manualy and I dont have the Automatic chain tool either. Wish I did.

So now what else, typical put downs great I got Broad shoulders The water just runs off my back so to speak.

I run in Truck stops to stay in Shape and I work out big deal.

Vice being a Seat warmer. HA HA.

For those that dont work out or stay in shape Well ya realy need to start doing it for yourselfs.

Now far as the Medical goes again GOOD. ITs about time.

If I am loaded and running down the highway i am a happy driver. But, however, if I am not loaded and rotting away in a wal-mart parking lot i'm an angry aggressive driver.
