Seems to be a pattern of late getting loads without any unit or weight count. Dispatch needs to slow down and get this important info to us.

Some large customers/shippers will not always provide this. They will say I ordered a straight truck and it will fit. Do you have a truck or not? Often times if we push on dims and such, they will simply call someone else. Same is true on a number of bid boards.

We try and get as much info as we can. If we are overly pushy customers can see us as not customer friendly or easy to do business with. If that happens, we lose opportunity. Kind of a no win. Sometimes they order a tractor, we get there and the stuff could have fit on a sprinter??? But they are the customer and they pay our bills.

Just curious if you know you're cost per mile...fuel, ins, maint, repairs..are you sure it would be feasible to run that low? Would you turn a profit worth running for? Sounds to me like you may think of yourself as a "Commodity" who would rather have "Volume" than better pay, less miles. Work smarter, not harder, Todd....

Agreed. I would rather gargle broken glass than pimp myself out like a cheap ho.

As i have said many times one person cannot decide what works for the next. How's that sitting going?

All very true, but if the question was asked in a way that showed the customers that we are looking out for them ... ie " can I get the weight and dims on that load so as to send the most cost effective and best suited equipment to you, to insure a smooth and on time delivery" or something like that. If a salesperson spends a couple of weeks working a new account and the first time we show up we have to dry run the load, and then send another truck or a different carrier. I won't think that would look good either. I know that there is balance there that is tough, but it seems in my case it's been happening more often lately.
Just my 2 cents worth

The same here. Nice and cool, minimal cost for sitting, and I am close reach to too many major cities to move..Nashville, Hopkinsville, Louisville, Springfield....I see alot of opportunity here...but it is not the rates that is the problem...even the cheap freight rate *****s are sitting more than I am here...not only here, but elsewhere as well...it is just slow, and what loads do appear, are gobbled up quickly by those willing to run lower than I'd care to....it'll come around eventually..

I agree with the concept 100%! Problem is often the person calling in the load is a 3pl for example. If we ask them to call the customer back and request that info, I can tell you what the end result will be......

Most of them want a truck, they don't always want to be helped, lol.
