$60 mini ?

Are you a courier or an expediter ?

Sorry, I was shocked. Thought you left a digit off.

How many people do stuff under $150 ? $100 ?

Me!! courier same day, expedite...same thing...60 bucks for a 20 mile load = $3.00 a mile by my math.....

Why wait 9 hours to pick up a 60.00 Dollar load, then be taken off the board if say a 600 mile load comes available? In that 9 hours I can get back home, I don't stay out for anything under 400 miles, Akron is or was a good area for money paying runs.

missing info was the $$$$$$ makes more sense now.....:) I've run some better paying PTL loads before.....

Takes a $100 to get me to move unless it's immediate and short

I gave them my bottom Dollar rate to sit for 9 hours and the passed, had it been ready now I must Likely ran it. A few of the dispatchers have no problem throwing money at a mini run, this one isn't one of them.

To put a value on a driver's time.
My bro called me today and told me he just went up to $26.85 per hour. 1.5 x after 40.
And he doesn't even have a vehicle to add to the equation.

If it was Detroit Metro to Detroit Metro and EARLY in the day I might consider it. Only because I'd still be in Detroit for that 600 load your referring to.
Dispatchers have short memories. But they DO have memories.
But yes, $60 for a load 15 hours from "now" in the middle of the night is NOT good math.
I'd bail too.
Good call.
As you know. :)

Back in 71, the year I entered trucking, my father was in management of an LTL carrier.
I remember him telling me they need $100 to pu up a shipment, $100 to deliver a shipment, plus $1 per mile.
This a general idea on LTL.

I do know I hauled one pallet, (two full trls) from Chgo to Dallas. COD, so I saw the rate, $2800. Probably 1992.

The times, they are a changing.

Too cheap , I agree ....Mr. Dispatcher like it or not .....its $ 200 to turn my Key ....doesn't work for all Van drivers but I 'm not out here to break even or lose money ....Yes I don't do alot of shorties loads ...But I manage to make a couple dollars ...
