Just finished watching a show on court tv called 'party police' that was the 2007 mardi gras. Talk about an absolute waste of time and money. There wasn't anything useful or worthwhile to the whole thing. People so drunk they can't stand up and some passing out and nearly dying in the gutter. Just another example of why the city should have been abandoned after Katrina.

But Leo, isn't this what mardi gras is supposed to be all about?

Being drunk, defecating in the street and passing out in a strange place is supposed to be a mardi gras. Spend money, who care... it is new orleans.

You know, with the amount of money that the state had in it's coffers and the amount of our tax money sitting there doing nothing because of the city government that needs to be cleaned up - you can take all that federal money and build a house for each and every family and still give them $15,000.

I guess after hearing that the people who now decided not to return are considered exiles of New Orleans, I just get tired of hearing about it all.

Not to mention Jefferson, their congressman who hid $90,000 in his freezer, was indited on like 27 counts yesterday. Funny thing is, his district re-elected him AFTER the scandal about the money in the freezer. Goes to show what kind of ppl populate his district.
