I'm not totally apposed to cashback offers. Obviously, there are some situations where financially minded people can take advantage of this without having to pay the ridiculous interest rates and fees. Although, in the same breath, one unexpected slip up or sudden loss of income, can quickly find you at their high rate mercy by having to carry a balance. That's the biggest thing I don't like, and something that doesn't happen when using cash.

That said, the last few weeks I've been toying with getting a Amazon Prime card.
The main reasoning for me is whenever possible, I buy everything from Amazon already.

What they offer.
No fee. $70 cash bonus on sign up and 5% cashback on Amazon purchases.
Also 2% back at restaurants. drug stores and Gas stations.
1% for everything else.

I mainly want it for the 5%, kind of wish I had it last year as I racked up a lot of purchases.

Only hitch is you need to be a Prime member $99 year. Which I already am, so as much as I use Amazon, it seems like a no-brainer. But yet I hesitate

Roadtime with all due respect, you own a small business ... a shipping company. It has 1 employee & 1 vehicle. How many miles did you drive last month .... 6K? .... 8K? .... 10K+? You consume fuel like crazy on a monthly basis & you're looking at an Amazon Prime Card? THAT is the no brainer!?

How much did you spend on Amazon last month? Do you buy your fuel from Amazon?

I'm not trying to be abrasive or a wise ass. I can't understand how this whole topic hasn't pointed out that there are certain credit cards that offer savings for the costs of your business. Wouldn't you rather get a bigger discount on the fuel you purchase?

Grizz.......down boy! You are correct, BUT, this isn't "The Book Of Mormon" and you don't need to try to convert non-believers .

You can lead a horse to water but can't make them jump through the eye of a needle

As I mentioned, I'm interested in it for the 5% cash back from my main shopping place. Having spent over $3k last year at Amazon, yeah I wouldn't mind getting 5% cashback ;)

Grizzly...any woman that can shoot, manage a budget while being married to an expediter and keep over an 800 credit score and loves to garden is a kindred spirit! But I was born and raised in South Dakota! And I was a member of the Andrews AFB credit union for many years!

I use the Capital One Venture card for everything. For every dollar spent I get 2 airline miles. Think I'm up to 250K + miles and counting .
Where are ya gonna go? Tahiti? Maldives?

My sister and brother-in-law used to live in Honolulu Hawaii as he was in the Navy. Now that he is out and going to school, there in Alaska. In three years he will be done and my sister wants to move back to Honolulu.

So my thought was to if that happens to fly our parents and me of course, lol to Honolulu using the airline miles and it would be free.

You know where it's at juju!

My wife excels at her full time job, can handle certain firearms with casual deadly precision, speaks 3 languages .. Russian, Ukrainian & English, is a prolific knitter .. won Best in Show at a local animal fiber fair ... basically she juggles more stuff & accomplishes more stuff than I can possibly ever imagine. Her - micro, me - macro ... she doesn't like to steer the ship, I DO! She's a fan of Putin AND Trump! LOL ... discussions of current events often take strange & mysterious turns in our household ... and I love it ... I love ALL of it .... if it isn't already blatantly obvious .. I miss & love her dearly!

I'm leaving Duluth, MN ... headed to VA .. and by this weekend I am getting my ass to the house!

I got slightly confused by the previous message, I thought perhaps you were born north of the border. Andrews AFB ... interesting ....
