Ok...FOUL.....how come you get offered such an early move when we guys have to wait till 10pm?....FOUL......LOL

Dale...just refuse the offer if you feel that way....

Eh, I'm still learning how this company works , didn't know there was a 10pm rule..LOL.. But seriously, I know I've only been here less than 3 weeks...within last 2 weeks, had 3 loads pickup within short miles of home, one mini, one to Grand Rapids, Monday, I had a good run from here, which dry ran of course.

I called and put a bug in the ear of dispatch, to see if anything was moving, was told I could come up there.. I guess technically, I didn't hear a mention of a paid move, so we'll say just 'advised' I could move up there. My normal instincts tell me freight will come from here to get me back in the roll of things...

Dale it just depends on how patient you are. You have to trust dispatch. They see what areas the freight is moving from. Columbus just may not be the "hot spot" so far this week and who knows tomorrow every load out of Ohio could come from that area. If you don't mind waiting at home for a load, wait it out. But if you want to work today move up to Taylor. They wouldn't even suggest you to come up there 200 miles if the area your in has been producing freight for us.

Me personally I would give it a few more hours since your in prime time at the moment. Communication with dispatch is key that if you don't get anything tonight by a certain time your going to d/h up to yard and you'll be up there by a certain time. Maybe they will have decent run that picks up in the morning if you get skunked this evening.

Ok, thanks Shadow.. I'll give it a bit, then if nothing, guess I'll bite the bullet, and roll that way.

Glad I waited! Thanks Shadow! I did indeed get a run out of here. Relatively short, just to Cleveland, but picks up 29 miles away, and GREAT rate. Did I mention I do love the better pay on short runs here :)

My instincts aren't totally screwed up :)

The short loads are good. If I could stay just a little bit busier with them, I would be content with just that. Like everybody else, I suppose.

Fyi... ive been 1 of 1 in Cleveland since noon (i went oos to get the van serviced)...not a word since noon. 136 from the yard, so I may head that way after while...depending on what dispatch advises.

That was my next question, how Cleveland was for freight here. Can't deliver til 6 am, could be in yard by 9 if unloaded quick. Guess I'll see how many there. Could really use a long mile run.

Ok the truck is washed, i am washed, i washed the windows and mirrors...too late to take a nap, too early for bed for the night....I guess ill go to dinner in a bit...

On the test deal...if you can't log in when they ask for a password, there is a phone # at the button for help, call it..something happed a last week and they reset everyones password..the generic Load1 doesn't work anymore..mine is load 2.....

Juju, i have 3 AC units AT HOME.....

Guido, that batch of chili is gone..probably won't be anymore till fall..but its "Chili Mac" time all yr round, if you see me , ask me for a bag full...you will like it....

Yeap Steve, that coffee and red bull did a job on me ...twice in 30 minutes....

As for EO, mine is still the same blue and the same new not so special smileys...and no like button....

I'm home. Strange day yesterday while at the yard. A phone call informing me that my father had a heart attack and was rushed to hospital. The good news is that the surgery to clear a blocked artery and insert a stent went well. I wanted to mention this as most are unaware of Canadian health care, but I read of it being maligned all the time. From the time he entered emergency, he was in the recovery room less than 3 hrs later. Just incredible.
Luckily I met a driver with a diesel Cargomaxx and we chatted for a couple hours. That kept my mind off things. And lunch with Steve Wolfe, who listened to me and really showed support. Thanks for that.
I still managed through all of this to take a picture of the shower door, not sure what that says about me lol.
OOS until tomorrow so I can drive down to see him.
