WOW Guy's...... We all know that everyone at Load-1 works hard. They work hard to keep us moving and they work twice as hard when its slow to try and get us moving. Nobody can predict when the next slow week is going to be. I'm pretty sure nobody wanted to see 10, 15, or 20 units sitting in one area. Freight is slow at the moment and van/sprinter freight is probobly the slowest.
Just last Wednesday after running with the afterburners on I had to turn a load down just to get some sleep. Those weeks and days will return just give it time. I kind of wish I wouldnt have said anything about having a slow week at this point. I surely didnt mean for this twist to come about..... One day I will learn hind sight is 20/20!
Don't beat yourself up over it. We've all had weeks where we wanted to scream "uncle".
I think tho, the discussion is more of a cart before the horse thing. It's exciting to be on the ground floor of a growing company. It can also be equally frustrating at times.
What gets missed in this shuffle is with this growth a lot of the o/os that are coming on, don't live in or near Michigan. When we ask for a load headn near home and get one goin the opposition direction, it makes you wonder. Because the mindset is all roads lead to Taylor, I think they think once that load delivers we can go home. Obviously that is not always the case.
Now I know they are not our personal travel agent, but they do see the loads. And in keeping with good relationships between all, I would think that would be something of a concern.
Panther, for example has a dept. that deals with "hometime" requests. Now I'm not saying we need to go down that road, but it does need to be addressed.
A dh of 600 miles is not a good solution to the overall issue.
