I'm heading home. Had hoped to get a load in that general direction, but doesn't look like that's gonna happen. So, it's 600 miles home from Warren.

I travel pretty much exclusively on my debit card. I do use the Fleet One card for fuel most of the time, but occasionally I'll get fuel on my debit card. I have no credit card. Over the weekend and again on Monday I got fuel on the debit card, and then went inside to buy some stuff, drinks, snacks, whatever. The card was accepted at the pump, but declined at the register. The card was also declined at a restaurant Sunday night. On Monday I got fuel with no problems, and the card was again declined at the register, I walked over to the ATM machine and withdrew cash to pay for what I wanted. No problems there.

But then on Tuesday, I got a call from my bank informing me they had picked up suspicious activity on my debit card, and they inquired about several recent transactions on my card. I had noticed one charge that was showing up online for $15.00 to Walmart.com. I was going to call them on Tuesday anyway to ask about that one. The person informed me that there were two other identical Walmart.com charges that weren't showing up online yet, plus an additional one for exactly $150.00, also for Walmart.com. There were also "half a dozen" $1 and $2 charges for donations to various charities. Someone obviously was using my debit card number to buy stuff.

The card was killed and a new one issued, the old number no longer any good. It'll be 3-5 days before I receive the new card in the mail, which means Friday, Saturday or Monday. There's plenty of money in the bank, but no way to get to it, as my bank has no branches around here to cash a check. I tried a local bank, but since I'm not an account holder there, they wouldn't let me cash a check. Oh, well. I'm now down to $5 in cash, enough points at Pilot for a couple of Subways or something and enough at Speedway to get a couple of roller meals and something to drink. I was hoping for a load heading in the general direction of home, but alas that is not to be. No load to anywhere, looks like. So, home I go.

Just finished seeing my old man. At 84 he's pretty tough. Says he feels better than when he went in. I guess after having a 95% blockage cleared out, he should.
Thanks for the kind thoughts, even those from other carriers who pm'ed me after reading the Load One forum.

95% blockage? You bet he'll be feeling better. Most that have gone through it say the same. Its just a shame that it doesnt get corrected before such an event.

Glad he's feeling good.

Now....get back to work! :D Nula needs some extra shopping money :)

I'm fine, on the phone with OVM. It's more of an inconvenience than an actual perdikament. I really don't need any cash between here and home, cause I've got those loyalty points to eat on, and I'll have either the card or I can just go to the bank after I get home. Thanks for your concern, tho. :)

No problem. No doubt you'll do fine. Thought you might like a couple extra bucks for the trip. I was gonna have John reimburse me out of ovm's check anyways :D
