For normal, every-tank cleaning, Red Line RL-2 (best), Liqui Moly Diesel Anti-Knock Plus, or Standyne Diesel Formula or Standyne Performance Formula work extremely well.

Red Line also makes an RL-3, which is the same as RL-2 and includes a cetane boost. Available at the link to RedLine in my first post above.
Interesting that Amazon and Red Line themselves have the same price for RL-2, and that at Red-Line there is no break for purchasing a gallon. Sooo...looks like I will be buying a case of 12 15oz bottles. Been using the Red Line Anti-Gel for years, and used to use their regular diesel additive years ago in a Mercedes. Don't remember it as being called RL-2 then.
Thank you to skyraider and Turtle for the links and solid info. This is a great example of the forum working in the best way. I started using Lucas on the recommendation of a diesel fleet mechanic who said it was as good as Stanadyne (also available at Amazon). If it was at one time, the info provided here has persuaded me otherwise.
Should be said, too, that Bob at bobistheoilguy is talking about Lucas Oil Additive, not the fuel additive. The article and charts that impressed me is the diesel
fuel additives pdf that was linked above.
