how was december and january for you? is this just all of the sudden?
In 08 rates went down and carriers never brought them back up. Many drivers were lost to being broke and it was busier for awhile I expect no different this time.. It won't be any different you all are screwed .... This is the new business model...hope you can either cut the fat, live on less or good bye... And I for one will not shed a tear at your exit.. For its just business not personal...

December was alright ... January was even better I made bank .. Not a lot of driving but very very good rates ... Brokers were not complaining about it.. But this month o wow... The loads are there just not the normal prices ..

Yes I do .. Since I watch the boards all day long... And when broker is rdy to pay me a price I am asking , just about to receive rate says " o I just got this price" half of what I am asking ...

U need to be a insured carrier with active MC DoT and subscribe to boards and such... Be in the Bizz for a while to start getting loads Long process .. That takes time and $$

You didn't give it a time frame at all. You just made a flat statement that said the brokers are making more than the carriers and drivers combined. Could be once, could be all the time, could be anywhere in between. You also said, ". Brokers are loving it now a days..." so I have to assume that it's more than just one broker and it's happened on more than one day for those it's happened to. So let's go with "now a days" to mean since January 1, and let's go with "brokers are loving it" to mean 3 or more brokers who are loving it.
Anything that shows the broker made more on a load than did the carrier and the driver combined.

Geez Turtle ......drop it already .......do you ALWAYS ( and by ALWAYS , do I mean really ALWAYS , or since January 1st ALWAYS , or part of the time ALWAYS ) have to have the last word ? Your inabilty to just say nothing sometimes gets annoying . Just a veteran expediter that's relatively new here's observation.
I think brokers are a lot like us...some loads they make more money then on other loads...depends on the customer and here is the kicker I believe....how many brokers before them have taken their piece of the pie....brokers/logistic specialists, and carriers...are you referring to a carrier brokerage or something of a ch robinson type broker.......I am amazed since 08 and the big cutbacks..our rates never went back up BUT there was room to create another layer of brokerage in the name of 4pls...just amazing
you MUST be a new guy...... 70 cents has been here since 2008 the year this business went "poof" many had a flat rate of .70 you just didn't see it as much because FSC was like .30-45 cents some even higher giving the illusion of a higher rate NOW FSC is almost gone exposing the real linehaul rates...
