Low-pants player arrested

New Mexico football player Deshon Marman's saggy pants lewd to his arrest and removal from a plane at San Francisco Int'l Airport on Wednesday.

Marman, 20 [but apparently less than half of that, emotionally and intellectually], wa s boarding a flight to Albuquerque when a U.S. Airways employee saw his pants were below his buttocks and his boxer shorts were showing, San Francisco Police Sergeant Michael Rodriguez told the San Francisco Chronicle.

Marman refused the request to pull up his pants and failed to immediately comply when she asked him to deplane, Rodriguez said, adding Marman injured a police officer while being arrested.

The player was arrested on suspicion of trespassing, battery of a police officer, and obstruction of a police investigation, Rodriguez told the Associated Press.

Marman's mother, Donna Doyle, told the paper her son was emotionally fragile after the funeral of a close friend, who died 11 days after being shot. Coach Mike Locksley said the school was aware of the arrest and planned to support Marman.

I frequently criticize coaches and trans for not standing by a player who's arrested and charged but not yet convicted, but wouldn't it be easier in this case to tell the kid "PULL YOUR GD PANTS UP AND LEAVE THEM UP, YOU PIECE OF TRASH! THE NEXT TIME I SEE YOUR UNDERWEAR OUTSIDE OF THE LOCKER ROOM, YOU WON'T BE REPRESENTING THIS TEAM ANYMORE."

Emotionally fragile my hind leg. IF he is REALLY that "fragile" he should seek help to overcome his extreme wimpism. If he can't hand a funeral I sure as heck would not want him in a fox hole with me.

Not only is dressed like that LOOK stupid, it is dangerous on an aircraft. His pants might fall off causing him to trip while getting out in case of an emergency.Like when that plane went down in the Hudson. His "fashion statement" could cost someone else their lives. I see NO reason to see some weirdo's butt either.

Seems like ANYTHING that interferes with MY safety on that aircraft is interfering with MY LIFE! I don't care HOW he dresses when it does not pose a hazard to safety. I guess if you want to be a slob, it's OK. He had better make it in football, no reputable place would hire him for a real job dressed like that.

He is a wimp. Can't handle a funeral at his age. He should be ashamed.

I DO like it when those slobs dress like that and then go out and commit a crime. It makes it far easier to arrest them because they can't run with their pants down around their knees. How stupid can you get?

It is a shame how standards of dress and modesty have gone down hill so bad. Right along with work ethics and honesty.

Nope, they have NO option. At his age and condition he SHOULD be pressed into service to CARRY those kind of people out if needed. I would have at his age and would have been dressed in such a way that I could without my pants falling down to my knees. . He HAS an option. The idea that fashion is more important than safety says tons about his lack of brain process.

I was in the army at his age AND fighting fire. The poor baby. Make excuses. He is a slob and a wimp and totally inconsiderate of those around him.

We can only hope that he is too stupid to breed.

So now you want him on the plane carrying out the injured but dressed what in some nice chinos and a fashionable yet not too garish a patterned golf shirt? Oh, and neutered by the state as well.

NO, I want a responsible citizen. Does ANYONE remember what that was? Where did I say to "neuter" him? I just said that we could HOPE that he was too stupid to breed. I don't see ANY where that I said to neuter him.

He is a bum. Bums dress like bums and act like it. He could NOT work in an emergency dressed as he was and, having read the story, I doubt he could handle it either.

Yeah, I know, fads, style, blah blah blah. At his age he should be well past that silly teen age stuff for one. At his age he should be able to handle the stress of a funeral without going off.

Yeah, a little common sense goes a long way. When I was in the army the flight crews on airliners used to ask us to sit in the seat where there was an emergency exit. They wanted our help in case there was an emergency. We always were happy to oblige. It was an honor to be thought of in that way. Responsible, able to handle emergencies and help others who might need it.

Hard to do with your pants on the floor around your ankles and a cry baby attitude like his.

He needs to grow up. His is a full grown adult, he should act like it.

Not that I like that pants down style but that argument is a little lame. The guy is a football player and could probably accomplish more with his pants around his ankles on an emergency than most average men dressed in polos and khakis. Using that argument someone with a tie on could be a hazard to because it could get caught on something and he not be able get out of the way.

If he is such a big, tough, football player why is his "mommy" or "grandmommy", I forget which it was, making excuses for his inability to hold it together? I was able to handle the funeral of a friend at a lot younger age than he did. He is a grown man, at least in body. He should ACT like it.

I would NOT want a person who is THAT FRAGILE, or spoiled rotten, on the fire line or in a fox hole with me. Being BIG and able to PLAY A GAME does NOT make one a man or good in an emergency. He plays games and falls apart in real life.

You can't walk with your pants wrapped around your ankles either. I don't care who you are.
