Louisville Truck Show Starts Tomorrow!

From what I have seen the show is geared toward tractor folks.

But, if you have the spare time it seems like a decent setting for a "tailgater" get together.

What's up with EO not being an exhibitor?

Well first day not starting out so nice! We delivered early and we are sitting in the Papa John's parking lot watching the drizzle. Hope it clears off and acts like the last couple of awesome days! Sure looking forward to see all that can get here and the new people. Look for the truck with the Purple Pig on the back bumper and that is us! Lift gate party here we come!

A friend of mine arrived last night and is buddies with a couple of exhibitors. His buddies have been told by show officials to feel free to expand their booths to take up more space. Many of the outside exhibits have been moved inside to take up space.

The report received from my friend who received it from one of his exhibitor friends who said he was told by a show official is that 400 exhibitors will be no-shows this year. With last year's exhibitor count at 1,175 and this year's number earlier reported at 900 by the show, 400 no-shows is a huge number.

I am being careful to state the third-hand nature of this report because I am having a hard time believing it. The show has almost always been bigger and better than the year before. Exhibitors being moved inside from outside lends credibility to the report. Big no-shows like Peterbilt and Kenworth are already known. I will be very interested to hear from those of you on the ground about this.

We all know the recession is forcing cutbacks in all sectors of the economy. But 400 no-shows? It defies belief.

Not being a last-minute no-show like the 400 said to be above, EO is one of many if not all trucking industry publishers not exhibiting at the show this year. EO's resources will be focused on the July Expedite Expo at Willmington, Ohio. That decision was made some time ago.

looking forward to going to the show this year. leaving Chicago and heading there today. hope to meet some of the people from the E/O community.. will try to hang out at Pa Pa Johns tonight.then go home and be at the show Friday......

We are in El Paso, TX atm. I hope we get a load going that way. It seems every time the show comes about, we are always on the other side of the nation.

Yes El Paso is a ways! Wish you luck the rain has cleared off and just waiting for the show to start. Papa John's had plenty of parking but did notice the other parking areas seem to be filling up. Will know more once we get inside.
