Louisville Truck Show Starts Tomorrow!

The Mid-America Trucking Show (MATS) starts tomorrow in Louisville, KY.

Diane and I won't be there as we are nowhere close. This is a different kind of year for the truck show with the recession and all. Peterbilt and Kenworth will not be exhibiting this year. Other important exhibitors, including EO, will not be exhibiting this year. The official word from the truck show people is that 900 exhibitors will be there this year, which is down from last year's 1,175 announced number.

Still, if we were close, we would attend. 900 exhibitors still make for a great show and the truck show is always fun. Everyone who has an interest in trucks should attend the show at least once, just to see it. It is quite the event.

From those of you who are going, I would love to hear your reports. How was the show this year? How did it compare to previous shows?

We deliver a load in the morning in West Virginia then will be on our way to the truck show! Looking forward to it. We plan on parking in the Papa John's parking lot again with a whole bunch of other expediters!!

Hey saw you parked our front of the J!! I was out for my walk and decided not to wake you up. Then Bob took this short load so I guess we will get to see you tomorrow. Looking forward to the BBQ in the parking lot.... fun times and lots of fun memories of past get togethers.

I plan to go if I don't get a good load offer. Hopefully my plans to go will be messed up with a really good offer but if not I'll be there also.

You all are making it difficult for those of us who will not be there. Now let's see, we deliver tomorrow afternoon, 564 miles from the truck show, the Thur-Sat Louisville forecast is for upper 50's and lower 60's temps under clear or partly cloudy skies ....

Do you notice that I make sure you can't even come within smelling distance of the food? It's not that far to Louisville, why aren't you coming down? I won't be there until at least Friday. That darn Bolt company thinks they're supposed to get me a load almost every day of the week, sheeesh

Just delivered a load to the truck show. T'was a load of 'exhibit material' picked up in Dallas TX. Dropped at 13:30 hrs and was 4/3 (4th out 3rd team) on the Louisville board so headed on down to Indianappolis for a 2/1 postion. Rather be making money then playing at the show.

I'm going as a newbie just to check out the show and get a feel for different segments of the industry, expediting especially. I've been intrigued by it since the first time I saw Roberts Express trucks on I-81 outside Dublin, Virginia, back when I was driving a garbage truck. Maybe I'll have to stop by Papa John's and say hi.

I'm in SC, and won't make it unless I get a load close to Louisville. Sure hate to miss Jeanie's cooking, and all the 'socializing' - especially since the weather's gonna be pleasant for once.

Know that you are going to a BIG show. If you cannot be there the whole time, plan your visit carefully. There is more to see than there is time to see it.
