Looks like everyone is slow today

Just read today they WILL NOT delay the new hours of service rules.
The FMCSA ignored pending court action. last month miss. Farro said they cannot wait for the court (you know the justice system we have in place), because of the clear safety benefits of the new rules. simply counter-predicting her OWN statement to the court from last Dec. when she simply told the court they do not have the necessary Data to support the new ruls {we are from the Gov. & we know better}.
another problem: the FMCSA denied the request by the CVSA{the cops} to delay rules until the officer on the side of the road actually go through the training so they understand the rules they are supposed to enforce. we can expect some very confused bears at the scale houses.

It will cut a driver's productivity by 10-11%.
2 weeks ago ATRI published a survey of more then 3,000 drivers, 2,200 of which are truck owners {IC's} that survey show a predicted 20 to 25% {depending on operation} drop in productivity.
with the hectic nature of Expedite, you can expect WAY more then that for solo Expediters.
for team drivers, the 'selecting restart in advanced' will becomes an 'productivity redactor'.

It will create 16,600 new driving positions to make up for the productivity loss.
"60 percent of the jobs lost during the last recession were mid-wage jobs, but 58 percent of the jobs created since then have been low wage jobs."
wishful thinking is great, but those trucking job creation will only REDUCE rates. happen every time

There ! Obama IS creating new jobs !
It's slavery!. basically this is what happen in Egypt 5,000 years ago. creating worthless jobs- just to keep the whole army of slaves busy. be prepared, it IS coming.

Hell I wish I could have a slow day/week. It is just not in ozark's vocabulary!

Glad to here your running good so how much is your take home pay after taxes? I would hope AFTER taxes would be at least 1000.00 or more.
I can go pull Connex boxes outa the port in In Hampton Roads make 2 to 3 runs a day take them to richmond and make 900 a week after taxes. That being said I can do that, Then over the road truck driver best pay me over 1100 to 1200 aweek after taxes cause pulling connex boxes outa port well I be home every nite. Yupp.
So there it is laid out why would anyone want to be out over the road making less than 1100-1200 a week after taxes.

I'm making around $950 a week after tax. I like the w2 and health insurance I get. Just all around less stress.

Sorry you feel that way.
but there's a BIG different between D&G and doing something about this. when it comes to trucking, well just look on my rig and tell me how many truckers you know that went to that length to make their voice herd. i am also routinely communicate with the FMCSA, my representatives and others. how many on the shout-box do that ?
when it comes to the economy i know for a fact exactly where it's heading to. and takes many steps to protect myself and my family. this is not G&D as you say. it's facing reality.
only 2 decades ago drivers pay used to be 4 times better then a food servant. today's pay is only twice!.
here's a good read that, to a point, explain why : Activist Post: 60 Facts That Prove The American Middle Class is Being Wiped Out
if someone can give us rezone to think that expedite rates & volume will pick up soon and stay that way for some time, go ahead.
but you know what?- i simply do not see expediters on the roads anymore .

Its not all negative, we still kill 900 a week by auto deaths and there is no outrage, really, no outrage at all. All those dead are building really fancy funeral homes, just go look at a few. It creates new car sales for the family members left behind and for the injured and maimed. Rehab centers are booming with the injured and the insurance companies are paying out tons of money for that rehab, so as you can see, its business as usual in America and life is good, isn't it.
