While talking with Dan the other night during our weekly planning session, When PII takes over the company formerly known as "Brown" we keyed on "Banning the Van".

Here is what is going to take place in the next 4-5 weeks regarding the BIG SIX!

Express-1 buys A.S.A.P. Express
FedEx Custom Critical buys Bolt Express
Landstar Express America sells to UPS
Panther Expedited Services buys Nations Express, Inc.
Tri-State Expedited Service buys TST Expedited Services
UPS Expedited Service buys Landstar

Then Tri-State buys out Express-1
Then Panther buys out Tri-State

This leaves:
Tri-State
Panther
Fed Ex
and UPS...............

Then later in the year.........Tri-State and Panther merge and FedEx and UPS merge their expedite businesses.

By years end we will have just:
Panther/Tri-State to be known as "Panther-State"
And FedEx/UPS to be known as...you guessed it "FedUp"

Just think buy the middle of 2008 maybe Panther State and FedUp would merge and we can call the whole thing FedUp Panther State......

One thing for sure, as with the Conway buyout, we will not know til they send a QC message. As for it to happen 4-5 weeks from now, it wouldn't surprise me a bit if we get that message next week. Seems like a lot of changes going on with procedures and personel, like for instance that chris french is no longer the Director of Operations (tried to contact him and was told he's no longer with P2)...makes you wonder. Just speculation of course since billyjoejimbob brought it up.

Chris has been gone for a while now and in no way signifies any type of major *change* or buyout. Freight has been amazing, so whatever they are doing I hope they keep on doing it.

I have done a few UPS Supply Chain loads and several UPS Freight loads in the past 11 months. Nothing that was for UPS Expedite though. But I'm sure if UPS Expedite was larger they would have covered these loads for their sister companies.

When I was with Con-Way I handled many Con-Way Air loads and loads for the Con-Way LTL companies.

If I'm not mistaken, Colonel Foster said that his company ran some UPS loads, and UPS ran some of theirs. I'm sure he will speak up soon enough.

When I was with Roberts Express I picked up alot of loads at Overnite terminal's across the U.S. They would go around 500 miles or less and they paid very well too.I think but I'm not sure didn't UPS buy out Overnite awhile back???Also we picked up a few loads at Menlo terminal's around the U.S. also and they paid fair and would be heavy and not go far at all about 300 miles or less...

I picked up a load on thursday at visteon in indianapolis for UPS. it went to the UPS warehouse in romulus, final destination, Mexico.

Tec you are correct,UPS did buyout Overnite awhile back.I have a question for all the Panther Expediters,why haven't we recieved our New Drivers Manuals for 2007? everytime I call I get a different story,first time was they will be sent soon and last week I was told they are delayed at the printer..Hmmm makes you wonder why a Printer wouldn't be in a hurry to make money?Can somebody say UPS.
