Monday’s load to get back to the freight lanes.

It took a deadhead from Dallas to Oklahoma City on Monday evening for freight back to the middle of expedite civilization, Lima, Ohio. Twelve pounds less than a max load and twenty hours of rain.

This is a fuzzy shot of a better angle. The last five hundred pounds or so always sits about this high. You can see marks where the bumper touches the axle. Only axle/rear end issue was 450,000 miles ago and that was a broken retainer that allowed the axle to slide out. That break appeared to be from some kind of impact like a pot hole.

I don't run overweight and this is what a maximum load looks like, so I can't imagine what people are doing to their vans when they do run overweight.

Actually, once, I did have 1600 lbs too much put on the van. The tires where squashed half flat, and the axle was resting on the frame. The pallet was re-weighed, and the customer ordered a straight truck.
