Wooooo hoooooo!! Yeee- haaaaawww!! Yippiee kaaayyyy yaaayyyyy!!!! Swiisshhh!! Slaaamm duuuunkkk!!!!......okay, I'm done for now....lol....
I feel the same way. Last Friday afternoon I delivered a load from Laredo to Smyrna (less than 2 hours from the house). 1113 miles that never got "bumped up" like they said it would, so I ran it on the yellow Penske van cheap. But that's OK, because 10 hours later I got a recovery barn burner, 51 DH for 124 loaded from Manchester to Leesburg, AL (5 hours from the house). Then I sat for 2 days and got one 64 DH for 192 loaded from Rome, GA to Piedmont, SC (8 hours fro the house). I then sat for 2 days and got one that "don't know what happened but we've GOT to get this covered" 47 DH for 121 loaded from Greenwood, SC to Sumpter, SC (10 hours from the house). SO these short loads and all this layover pay
more than makes up for the Smyrna load.
I got 3 calls yesterday about loads, one to Troy, OH and two to Laredo, but we didn't get those. Apparently God, Little Larry, nor Tim were involved with those. That, or they still hate me.
I mention distance from the house because, as it so happens, I get blood drawn on Monday and a doctor's appointment on Tuesday, so all week I've been inching farther and farther away, so that now I get to DH 600 miles home, just like my hero OVM does.
Ah, the Expediter Life.
