The skeptic in me prevents me from hooking up with one of these national chain outfits and their lifetime alignment programs. P.T. Barnum's famous quote comes to mind.

Firestone does it or did have a lifetime alignment deal, be sure to read the fine print, ps, they charge 20 bucks for an inspection on ur car or van, they will always find something to fix, imho. but, it may save u a lot of problems down the road.:D

I have had a Firestone lifer alignment for past two years on my van. Cost $149 originally. They have done a total of 7 alignments across the country and so far without too big a hassle, added cost or more work. Got to watch then though, last summer one in Toledo told me my right ball joints were "garbage" and must be replaced or death was imminent. I told him I needed that in writing so I could use it in court to sue the shop in Mississippi that had just replaced then a month earlier.
Never did get that document. Hmm!

On my old van I had lifetime from Firestone. Every where I went they told be it was in spec..asked for before and after print outs everything was green. I was still wearing tires incorrectly. I know how to fool the alignment machine and I am sure they do to.

I went to autolab in Marshall MI. and they put in on the rack and the tech (who is now my friend) showed me the real print out, took him quite awhile to get i back into the correct specs. Next time I went in 30k later had them put it on the rack and it was still in specs and irregular tire wear was gone. That day I bought the Lifetime package for 99.00. I take it in every 30k to have it aligned and to this day my front tires have worn correctly on the old van and the new van. I am at 477k now and having it aligned every 30k @ 69.00 a pop would of been expensive. This van alone since new has had 14 or 15 aligns all for the one time price of 99.00 so that is about 6-7 a pop. Money well spent. Plus my tires last longer, I change out he tires @ 120k no matter how much life is left on them.

I guess if you find a reputable shop, then the lifetime is a good deal, but the big chains fuhgidabowdit!!!!

Computer print out, seems like a problem with most of the shops. It's printer not working, no printer or they give you fake one. Is ther any fees for lifetime alignment after you get it and come back to do it second time?

At my shop no it was a one time fee of 99.00 about 5 years ago and I have had this van in 14-15 times so far.
