legalized drug use

Another thread suggests drug testing is a bad thing. Many think drugs should be illegal. I say let's legalize drugs but make the trafficking illegal. To legalize them would require two things. First, possession of a quantity greater than or equal to 1.5 times the amount needed to cause death to the average human during one usage would be considered trafficking quantity. That would be a felony with capital punishment as the only penalty option. Second, the government would issue tax stamps just like on alcohol and tobacco and 1 in 10 doses of each drug would contain a lethal poison. Anyone that wanted to use based on those criteria would be welcome to.

Leo,
I understand where you are coming from and what you are saying but we as a society can't legalize anything - the idea that drugs are equal to liquor are equal to other vices would hold true if there was something called personal responsibility.

I argued with a libertarian over this issue and we both came to the conclusion that if drugs were legalized tomorrow, we would have such a mess on our hands because people can't think for themselves. This is not a new problem, we have been faced with it before but before society corrected the problem by either removing the person completely or shunning them out of society. Today we accept drug use as the norm, feel sorry for many of them but fail to punish them when they destroy other's lives or help the people they destroy.

Well, I know it can't be legalized and it shouldn't be without the stipulations I stated. The primary purpose is to rapidly reduce the supply by executing LOTS of suppliers as well as 1 in 10 doses being deadly. That would stop the recreational users and eliminate the ones that can't be rehabilitated.

i never said testing was bad with a court order
but testing without is taking my rights away
but leaglelizing them would only take money away from drug dealers cutting out the middle man and keep it the rich pockets cause without them nobody would be there to put up front money

How about MY rights, B/Mule..??..!!

I advocate MORE drug testing and
MORE prosecution with STRONG punishment.!!
(this, of course, includes alcohol ..)
Involved in a felony act ... drug test
Speeding 10-over the posted limit ... drug test
Harm another human being ... drug test

CDL drivers... quarterly and random drug tests
CDL License.. speeding 5-over the posted speed limit.. drug test
CDL .. 2-times the points and fines/jail time

Test positive...

what i am saying nobody should have search and seizure do on thier body with out a court order
people who are caught in a cmv should lose thier rights to drive and if they
but i still feel that drug testing without a court order i taking away my rights why should i pay because of the few stupid idiots who feel they can do whatever they please nnln

OK...

You have rights...
As a law abiding citizen..

BUT, as you may know, when someone drives
under the influence they have the
RIGHT to agree to take a drug test
or loose their driver's license...

I say, if they test positive...

WHAM.. BAM... TO THE SLAMMER, MAN...

And if the law enforcement crew finds drugs..
Double WHAM.. Double BAM... MORE TIME IN THE SLAMMER, MAN..!!!

You have the Right to Behave..
(that means conduct oneself properly...) :7

HINT...

in your character assessment of my life... :+

You may also prove yourself wrong on another topic ... ;)
