howdy,
I have a 2014 258 alp, leaking coolant above the def box from a rusted line. without changing the line, can it be eliminated somewhere before it goes under the cab ? from what i understand it keeps the def from freezing. im in florida and dont need to worry about that. thanks

I don't know what the ramifications are if this line is eliminated. The def injector may need the cooling. It isn't too terribly difficult it change this line. The hardest part is identifying the part in the parts diagram.

I have run regens with my dummy Def injector installed (cleaning out deposits in the SCR) without the coolant lines plugged in, and it melted one of the plastic fittings. I took them out of the Def injector for future use. Like greasy said they are not that hard to change and are engineered to be there for a reason. I vote to fix it correctly and save yourself issues down the road. If not you could melt the plastic on your Def injector.
