The 50 K a year post had some assumptions, Christmas gifts, Dental appointments, Illness, Rent. Along with it ended, it was just the posters opinion. What a year is to some may not be 12 months 28 (9) -31 days to others. That's my humble opinion.:p

I know most of you on here are in straights and vans,my experience is in a tractor. All the time I was with FDCC,I hated to go to Laredo, was usually a dead head out.Since being with TRI STATE,Laredo had been a hot spot for me.Now that I'm driving one of their company trucks, running solo, dobt if Ill ever see Laredo again. What I'm doing now is a couple rounds a week,Mi to MS and Ms back to MI.

Got a straight in Laredo now. Anyone want to throw a load on it? There is alot of freight out of laredo but pays very low cause people pick it up at cost or under just to get out.

Panther st trk team here, and we love Laredo, always a good load out, and usually the same day. Last time there, we turned down three offers below our rate (don't count against us) and then a good one paying our rate to Toronto came over. We've never had a prob getting out of Laredo in 4 yrs w/ Panther, many loads to Canada. Highly recommend doing Canada if possible, always seem to get a load right out of Canada as well, sometimes straight back to Laredo. Did a round trip last week with a couple other good runs, a 4700 mi. week, woo hoo!

Those shorties often pay way more on a per mile basis than the long ones. Last week I had 3 loads consisting of 1 mile, 50 miles, & 15 miles. Though I'd like to have more of that stuff, I've got no qualms on what I made. $2.33/mile for all miles driven, including DH.

Sometimes I wonder why one of the guys in the shipping office don't figure out a way to take these types of runs on their own.

Laredo works for some & not for others. I would respectfully let another driver take Laredo & keep taking the shorties.

Haha. It makes me laugh when I call a driver for a really short load and they turn it down before they even find out what I can pay.

Thanks for the information. I guess we must just be running into more competition down there. Seems some of you are running well out of there and that is good news.
