Laredo again

That's why I moved away from Laredo on my own dime. I didn't want to haul cheap freight. I'm hoping Houston is better. Never been here so I guess I'll find out soon enough.

I've gotten out of San Antonio also when Laredo was dead. There's a Toyota facility that will ship out and I've picked up at Ceva Logistics on the north side of San Antonio. Good luck getting out of Houston. Picked up out of there once with a load going to the Goodyear facility in Akron, OH

My move paid off. Got a load from Houston to Parrish AL. 663 miles. After accepting this load, carrier #2 called with a load 85 miles away but going all the way to Milwaukee. Had to turn that one down. Milwaukee is home, but I already agreed to take the AL load.

Just got a 3rd offer. Didn't bother to get the details because I'm already committed to the AL load. Seems to be plenty of freight out of here for CV's!

I couldn't agree with you more. This subject has been beaten to death, but it still frosts my *** every time some idiot says that. Laredo outbound is going to turn into .45 cpm freight all of the time, if these idiots keep taking it out of there for that. All they are doing is destroying the one great industry, one cheap paying load after another. What a shame.

And I should add, after thinking about it, that it is not only the driver who takes loads at welfare rates, who is at fault, but also the companies that bid that low on loads to begin with, expecting the driver to take the load at that ridiculous rate, and when the driver does the right thing by politely saying no, their company comes back saying something like "Well you can just sit than!" So sad, but I have heard this several times from so many. With this kind of attitude, many companies wonder why they are a revolving door for owner-operators.

Capitalism it's all fun and games until someone outbids you!

Very true, especially in an industry where unprepared newbies come in not understanding what they are doing.

Thing is I can get 25 miles per gallon and then box trucks can get 14 mpg I can run cheaper than they can so why do they expect me to run for their rate? I am an I/C.. My own cost Per mile I don't need the rate cops telling me what I should be running for

Ugh, I wish they would have called me with that load to Milwaukee, would have taken that...

Coal minor, I thought you were gone. There were no vans at the J when I left.

Coal minor, I thought you were gone. There were no vans at the J when I left.

At a Pilot on the other side of the city now, was asked to do a little 17 mile load that picked up in Stafford and delivered into Houston, was supposed to be ready at 11am, well got there and first they told me that there was a mix up and that was the destination, after a few phone calls, they found what I was supposed to pick up, but it was not ready, and that they had decided that they would just deliver it themselves. So im kind of curious as to what I am going to get paid for that attempt.

Now looking at your profile pic, I remember seeing your van there, I was in the older sprinter that had a banged up driver side fender.....hit a deer the other night....

That sucks that you wasted all that time and fuel for nothing. I did see your Sprinter, the "White" one, right? LOL. You were a few spots away from where I was camping.

Actually I think I took a pee on your rear bumper last night. Just Kidding! Everyone here seems to enjoy pee stories.
