laptop or QC stand

This should be an easy one. I have been driving for a few weeks now and I see some trucks with a swivel stand for their laptop or Qaulcomm unit. Where do I get one and how much do they generally cost. By the way, I really like reading all the helpful info you veteran drivers give on this web site. As a new driver it's a BIG help. Thanks.

I have a Freightliner M-2, Business Class and I have not yet bought a stand. Would like to get it right the first time.

I asked the same question back in April 2005 and "billt" send me this information on a homemade stand he made.

"what I did was get 2 galvanized floor flanges, an 18" piece of 1/2" galvanized pipe and a union and a 2" nopple had a aluminum pan made of .063 aluminum with 1" sides so the computer sits right down inside. When you don't want it between the seats just unscrew it from the floor flange. It only cost me about $15.00."

One day when I'm creative it may get made until then the passenger seat with the seat belt securing it has done the job to my satisfaction.

Ebay had another homemade variety listed not sure if it's still available.

Is this the one you mean John? I'd looked at these. A bit cheaper than some, and you would have to come up with some way of mounting it tho. It's designed for cars and and pick ups. Would probably work for a van.

Dreamer, nice find the one I saw was a pipe unit covered with flexible plastic covering similar to tubing used to protect wiring.

I'm sure they would make a unit to fit anybody needs.
