If I'm not mistaken, the contractual requirements for a BCO or a partner carrier running an expedited shipment state that it MUST be an exclusive shipment, unless Landstar has made arrangements for an expedited, multiple drop shipment. Not so with LTL though.

LEAM has also been working on a Global Logistics Program for quite some time and they have lagged in launching that program. Everybody has been saying for the last year, "You will love it."

It all sounds good, and we certainly need some positive news, but the proof is in the O/O's bottom line; not in promises and programs.

dhalltoyo, start asking a few questions, i did recently and the logistics program you talk about, and the warehousing well if you are in the group that thinks they only have 10 or 15 warehouses think again and add another "0" to them numbers, the only problem is I have yet to personally meet a BCO that has actually benefited from a load from any of the warehouses, any BCO on here been to any of these much touted warehouses??

Actually, I never alluded to any particular number of warehouses.

I have discussed the number of warehouses they are setting up with several members of the LEAM corporate team. My point is that carriers keep touting all of the wonderful things they are working on, but O/O's continue to see a decline in available freight.

It may be more prudent to enact these programs, evaluate their impact and then report the findings to O/O's. In a tight market, false hopes only aggravate an already stressful climate.

I too have yet to meet any O/O who has benefited from these programs; that also includes several other carriers who are touting new programs.
