What was said about Landstar is true. When I was there in 03 I was running mainly for two agents and didn't have time to do anything between trips but sleep.
I kept up with EO and the forum but things were differant then than now.

HERE HERE...Landstar is a 2 billon dollar Motor Carrier,do you really think they got that way by setting around thinking what can they can do more for the 9000 plus BCO's that are leased on with them? Phil I hate to say it, but you and your wife to sat back learn the ropes before you try and rebuilt Express America, there only a few seats at the table, you are in or you are out.If you are lucky enough to find the fright lanes and don't **** off everybody you migth make it.However you are the only new hire that got his photo in the company news magazine (that was some major a__ kissin). You should have been here years ago when things ever really good. Ron Stanley would have loved you. Most of us here never worked for a Governor or been an Atty General, or sold Insurance or got up one morning and sold the family farm to become a truck drivers, like you and your wife.Im sorry to say you have fallin in on a bunch of unshowered truck drivers, if we have a problem we fix it, we dont seat down and write an email to get somebody else to come and fit for us. Hang in there you might make it as truck driver thats if you wake up one day and want to open your own Think Tank. Now tell me one time time why did you leave Fed X?

If that is so, it is news to me. I know of no Landstar publication that put my photo in it. What magazine are you talking about? And even if what you say is true, so what? My photo has been in lots of trucking magazines. It's no big deal.

If I have a problem, I fix it too. No different than you or any other trucker who is handy with tools.

Diane and I have accomplished everything we set out to do and more since we became expediters in 2003. You don't get to decide whether we made it as truckers or not. We define our business. We set our goals. We guage our progress. You do not.

Now tell me one time time why did you leave Fed X?

The reasons Diane and I left FedEx Custom Critical for Landstar Express America are well documented in the Open Forum and in my daily blog. The short story is we saw our revenue declining as FedEx Custom Critical added company-owned reefer trailers to its fleet and with a new preferential dispatch system put freight on them that used to go on our truck. That and other changes at the company prompted us to seek out a new carrier.
