We had a great workshop in Knoxville! Every seat in the house was taken and it was great to meet our visitors to EO face to face.

Looking forward to the Monroe, MI event!

This is the largest workshop we have attended and I was impressed with many of the people in attendance.

It was great seeing the room fill up and new chairs being brought in for additional people.

We were able to meet a lot of new exciting people who will be entering this industry. We also met potential drivers who we have corresponded with and as always it great to put a face to a name. We also caught up with a few people we have met out on the road who were attending to further their education.

Thanks to all the vendors and EO staff that made this a worthwhile event.

I wonder if it is a sign of a poor economy to have all those people looking to get into expediting and is it going to take a toll on the industry with so many getting involved? Any idea on the breakdown of potential vanners vs ST? Or how many actually get started?

Any baby boomer retirees in those numbers?

I was surprised at the number that were looking at straight trucks. Most that I spoke to were second career folks. Some all ready had trucks and/or vans and were there to learn and ask questions.

Some as usual did not have a clue and were there to learn to see if Expediting was anything they might be interested in.

Over all really a pretty darn good crowd taking the first step to learn and some may have decided that driving a truck is not as easy as it sounds....

I'm sure they all got $$$ signs in their eyes as they were told about the big shortage on drivers.

I don't remember hearing in this workshop there is a shortage of drivers. What I did hear over and over was that this is a business and driver or owner/operator there is no guarantee that you will not fail.

If anything I believe there was more said about taking the rose colored glasses off!

I talked to a few who wanted to drive sprinters. Most were husband/wife teams who drove T/T and wanted to drive a straight truck.

We had a great time doing the workshops last year, and had wished we could have been there.

You and Nick did a great job answering questions and providing knowledge at the Expo.

Thanks, we really enjoy doing it. Hopefully in the future, with the changes we have made, and gained knowledge we can help even more.
