And?

Are we expecting any different?

Maybe when people realize that public school needs to go away, then they will get this and other things that are forced onto the kids will just go away.

Maybe I am missing something but when I had French (which was mandated at the time), we had to learn the French National Anthem and what does Liberté, égalité, fraternité means, even reading parts of Qu'est-ce qu'une nation? and the take on the book.
So you take a Spanish class in a predominantly Mexican region of the country - you don't see too many Germans there - shouldn't you expect to learn some of the culture too?

Maybe the good old dad there should have paid for private language lessons in some other language.

Some people have odd senses of humor.

At any rate, it would be really funny if the public schools required students to play "jihad games", pray to Allah and recite the quran.

But wait....that's already happened, and it was almost ten years ago: Judge rules Islamic education <br>OK in California classrooms

ROTFLMAO :rolleyes:....what's sad but true is that many of our public schools are a joke.

I took a couple of years of German in school. We learned all kinds of stuff about Germany, including the National anthem.

Did you know that in Germany, today, students in English class learn the national anthems of both England and the US? OMG!!! What is wrong with these public schools!?!? Who do they think they are, teaching kids about other cultures and stuff? Don't they know it's best to pretend that other cultures don't exist?

I really don't have an issue with them learning the Anthem, but anyone that was in the US Military and had their "security clearence" upgraded, were asked and had to sign to the fact (it was worded "have you ever" ) "Pledged allegiance to another country of flag?....."

The key word being EVER....now would this "pledge" taken in highschool apply??? Not sure, but it might....can anyone say with 100% certainity that it wouldn't?...

Reciting a pledge and actually making a pledge are two very different things. If they were one in the same, women would hear "I love you" a lot less. :D
