Back from vacation / leave. I just spent a good 2 weeks back int he US.

Now, back in Afghanistan, I can attest to the fact that the troops are really ##### about Kerry's comment.

As a member of the military myself, I take serious offense to his statement. I don't know if he ment to say something different, but what he DID do was call me an idiot. He told the the students in that auditorium that if they did poorly in school, they would end up in the military.

Lets see, as an enlisted person, I have the following educational credintials:

An Associates degree in Computer Science.

I am a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer.

I have a COMPTia A+, Network+, and network Security Certifications.

I hold and FAA Private pilots license and studying for my instrument rating.

Oh, and a Class B CDL.

You may not know this, but in todays Army you canmake E-5 with a high school diploma (which you need to enter the Army) but to be even a little competitive for E-6 SSG, you need to have started taking college courses. That means as an NCO in todays Army,you need college.

The man really needs to apologize.

As a thirty year veteran with enlisted and Vietnam theater service, I find Senator Kerry to be a man who hold the military and those who serve in very low regard. He used his minimal service time solely as a stepping stone to his lowlife existance in politics.

In Vietnam, I held the same rank and position as Kerry and worked for the same command as him, CTF 115. We each commanded heavily armed patrol craft in support of Operation Markettime (mine had a mounted 81mm trigger fired morter with a 50 cal. mounted piggyback on it, 4 other mounted .50 cal. and two mounted M60's). I can say from personal experience, that at no time were we required or authorized to perform many of the duties for which he claims his heroic action, one of which was jumping ashore and killing a wounded, no longer threatening, enemy soldier.

I tell you this just to emphasize my support for you and your fellow heros that have recognized that this political spinmeister has not. fooled the military voters. I trust you'll give him his due reward when his turn at the polls comes around.

if u watch when he said it, u can tell he was up the night before thinking of how to say it. he stoped saying one thing to spit that comment out. he looked very suprised when the people didn't clap. u r right, let him talk all he wants

I love it when they speak (Democrats). So much more buzz than those boring conservatives.

To all of those in uniform.... YOU HAVE MY TOTAL RESPECT, thanks for what you do and for those that have been in uniform thank you for what you did......

With that said as an American I was offended I accept his apoligy and am not suprised by the comment but just simply offended.

One bright spot we should see THANK GOD HE WAS NOT ELECTED..... as President.
