Well maybe someday Panther might realize that they should check out these new warm bodies a little bit closer before starting them into orientation.

And that's why when and if I ever get into "Expediting", Panther would be my last choice to run for. They clearly display/practice a "Driver + Van + Pulse" requirement to be initially hired on.

Would I have a problem getting hired on at Panther? Nope, but why would I waste my time going through all their orientational BS, then getting on the road knowing I'm surrounded by 1100 other Van drivers who's going to take deliveries from me that could bolster my career path only to quit 3 weeks later after they made me, who was wanting to at least try to make career out of "Expediting", sit here and there for days upon days losing money just waiting for a load that would prove my "worth" to the company?

I know it's a long sentence, but very understandable, and may actually hit the nail on the head when it comes to Panthers hiring practices and certain other drivers thoughts about actually wanting to drive for Panther to make a decent living.

Time to take a breath now................:D

If you really think it is any different anywhere else, well lets just say you will be in for a big surprise...they all bring too many into orientation EACH WEEK and bounce a few before lunch...then send the rest out to all corners of the US and they sit on "freight boards", express center, hubs and whatever other day they choose this month and you wait...dispatch doesn't know you from the next guy....and wait till they "shotgun" a freight offer to every driver within 150 miles and the 1st one back to them gets it....LOL, yeap dispatch is all about offering you freight to "prove your worth".....sooner or later, they figure out who they can depend on, but it ain't happening in a month or 2...

Oh and just a bit of food for thought, my son inlaw just bought a new sprinter, he called "the" big carrier, talked to them on the phone, no app to fill out, he was given a date to be in orientation.......oh and was told to bring a "team driver" with him if he decides to run "team" in the sprinter.....yeap...they figured it all out...on the phone....

I would agree with Chef on this one. The ones that think different would be better served to wait it out on the porch.
Remember, if there was that one great place, everyone would be there.
