Murray State woke up Sunday morning on Thanksgiving after their third consecutive loss (and their second loss in 2 days) to find themselves deep in a hole with a record of 2-4 with another game staring them in the face that afternoon. They won that afternoon, and have won every game since. They went from a dismal 2-4 to a brilliant 26-4 with the second longest winning streak in college basketball this season (Kentucky is undefeated at 29-0), the longest winning streak in OVC (Ohio Valley Conference) history beating their own 23-game record, and became just the 5th team in the OCV's 67 year history to go undefeated (16-0) in conference play.
After earning a top seed and a double bye in this year's OVC Tournament, Murray takes on Morehead State, who got past Southeast Missouri and UT-Martin, in the semifinals in Nashville, TN tonight at 7:30 PM EST (ESPNU). The winner of that game will play the winner of tonight's Belmont vs. Eastern Kentucky game on Saturday night (7 PM, ESPN2).
